Goaltender Joe Cannata and freshman Jordan Heywood each earned weekly honors for Merrimack, with Cannata taking the Athletic Republic Player of the Week award and Heywood being recognized as the Pro Ambitions co-rookie of the week.
Cannata stopped 65 of 69 UNH shots on the weekend to earn his 18th and 19th wins, taking the league lead in the category.
Heywood scored the OT game-winner in the Warriors' 3-2 win over New Hampshire Saturday at Lawler Arena. He shares the honor with Northeastern's Jamie Oleksiak, who also scored the game-winning goal in the Huskies' 3-2 overtime win at Lowell Friday night.
John Muse roped in the Pure Hockey Defensive player of the week award for his efforts in a 3-2 OT win against BU in round one of the Beanpot and in a 3-0 BC shutout win over Providence on Friday.
