Hockey East Weekly Honors - January 10

Athletic Republic Player of the Week: UNH F Paul Thompson helped lead the Wildcats to a four-point weekend, scoring six points (4+2=6) as well as achieving his second hat trick of this season - the third goal being an empty netter with two seconds left in the third period - on Friday against UMass Lowell where he also had an assist. On Saturday at UMass Amherst, Thompson scored the team's first goal and assisted on the winning goal.

Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Week: Northeastern F Brodie Reid was among four players who tallied against UMass Amherst on Friday, scoring a power play goal with a two man advantage that would be Northeastern's second goal in a 38 second span. Reid also scored against UMass Lowell, ending the weekend with a +2 rating.

Pure Hockey Co-Defensive Players of the Week: Merrimack goaltender Joe Cannata stopped an impressive 29 shots, leading Merrimack to a 7-1 victory over Maine on Saturday that vaulted Merrimack into 4th place in Hockey East. BC D Brian Dumoulin returned from the U.S. Junior team to score a team-high 4 points (1+3=4) in two wins over Providence and achieved another team-high of a +5 rating leading to the Eagles' seventh consecutive win.
